ENHANCING PUBLIC SAFETY WITH ADVANCED LICENSE PLATE RECOGNITION

Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) technology has significantly evolved and expanded its applications beyond simple traffic monitoring. Its integration into police, military, and border protection operations has introduced a new level of efficiency and capability in security and law enforcement. This advanced technology uses high-speed cameras combined with sophisticated software algorithms to automatically capture and analyze vehicle license plates.

Full Range of Fixed ALPR Cameras

Inex offers a wide range of ALPR cameras covers range of distances from 5 to over 80 feet. The cameras operate in any lighting conditions, triggered or non-triggered.

Mobile ALPR Cameras

Mounted on law enforcement vehicles, Inex mobile ALPR cameras record and alarm on the captured license plate in a watchlist.

Driver and Passenger Face Camera

The Inex Driver and Passenger Face Camera captures crisp infrared images in black and white, effectively identifying drivers and passengers through vehicle windshields and linking these visuals with their respective license plate numbers.

 High Accuracy ALPR algorithm

The highest accuracy algorithm is the least prone to false misreads when the plate is partially occluded or captured at a steep angle.

 Cloud Services

Inex IZCloud platform of software services captures and stores license plate information from passing vehicles in the database for investigative purposes, reporting, data analysis, and mapping. Through Inex ALPR cameras and the software, operators can access and review license plate details, cross-reference this data with various vehicle databases like BOLO (Be On the Lookout), blacklists, whitelists, and stolen vehicle records. This system allows officers to receive alerts when a vehicle of interest is detected.

POLICE APPLICATIONS

  • Crime Fighting and Prevention

Police departments use ALPR systems to help fight and prevent crime. By instantly checking license plates against databases of stolen vehicles or vehicles associated with wanted individuals, officers can identify and apprehend suspects more efficiently. This real-time information can be crucial in preventing crimes or quickly responding to ongoing incidents.
  • Traffic Enforcement

ALPR technology aids in enforcing traffic laws by automatically detecting and recording violations such as speeding, running red lights, or evading tolls. This allows for a more streamlined process in issuing citations and reduces the need for direct officer involvement for every traffic violation, allocating resources more effectively.
  • Investigative Work

In investigations, ALPR data can be invaluable. It can provide historical location information about a vehicle of interest, helping to establish patterns or place a suspect at or near a crime scene. This data can be critical in building a case or providing leads.

MILITARY APPLICATIONS

  • Base Security

On military bases, ALPR systems enhance security by controlling access and monitoring vehicles entering and exiting the premises. Vehicles associated with unauthorized personnel or flagged for security reasons can be quickly identified and intercepted.
  • Force Protection

In conflict zones or sensitive areas, military patrols equipped with ALPR technology can scan for vehicles associated with known threats or insurgents. This capability is vital for force protection and maintaining situational awareness in dynamic environments.
  • Logistics and Convoy Security

By tracking the movement of military and support vehicles, ALPR systems can improve logistics management and convoy security. Ensuring that vehicles reach their destinations safely and without interference from hostile forces is crucial in military operations.

BORDER PROTECTION APPLICATIONS

  • Immigration Control

Border control agencies use ALPR systems to monitor and regulate the flow of vehicles across borders. This technology helps in identifying stolen vehicles, tracking vehicles of interest, and preventing the unauthorized movement of people and goods.
  • Traffic Management

At busy border crossings, ALPR systems facilitate the smooth and efficient movement of legitimate traffic. By pre-screening frequent crossers and automating part of the inspection process, delays are minimized, and border security personnel can focus on higher-risk vehicles.
