SKIDATA™ TO COLLABORATE WITH INEX TECHNOLOGIES ON AN INTEGRATED LPR SOLUTION
Hillsborough, NJ - For Release – March 2005
SKIDATA, Inc and INEX Technologies, LLC announced plans to collaborate on the development of an integrated LPR design specification using emerging LPR technology from Zamir Recognition Systems, Ltd.. Integrating Zamir’s InSignia computer imaging and recognition technology with the SKIDATA APT 450 Parking and Revenue Control System will create an innovative solution for parking facilities across North America with the potential for global applications.
This strategic collaboration will offer customers a state of the art License Plate Recognition (LPR) System that utilizes integrated Infra-Red Illumination technology with a CCD Camera that automatically captures and reads the license plates of vehicles entering and exiting the parking facility. License plate and ticket data captured upon entry is available for automatic comparison to data captured when the vehicle exits the parking facility, allowing for automatic verification that the ticket presented is the correct ticket associated with that vehicle.
Parking facility operators and owners can now reduce losses associated with lost and swapped tickets, effectively increasing revenues. Operational costs are reduced through the elimination of: (1) manual entry of license plate numbers by the exiting cashier or (2) the physical inventory of a parking facility through License Plate Inventory.
The APT 450 system is developed to operate within industry standard tools and platforms and offers an ideal opportunity for a seamless INEX and SKIDATA integration offering customers the capability to run reports using a web-based interface and providing them with real-time monitoring of their parking facility.
According to Tom Rollo, Senior Vice President of SKIDATA Inc. US operations, “…the addition of the tested and proven InSignia ALPR technology is just the latest in SKIDATA’S efforts to meet the changing requirements of the market and of our customers.”
